ANDRITZ Supplies Combustion System Upgrade to Cartaseta, Switzerland

International technology group ANDRITZ has received an order from Cartaseta AG to supply a combustion system upgrade for a tissue machine at its mill in Gretzenbach, Switzerland.

This marks the fifteenth upgrade of its kind carried out by ANDRITZ in the last five years. Start-up is scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.

This technological upgrade includes new hood burners, gas valve trains and a new burner management system for electronic control of the air/gas ratio, optimising the combustion process across the entire burner output range of the PM5 tissue machine.

This advanced combustion system not only improves our tissue machine’s efficiency and reduces emissions but also leads to significant cost savings over time. Enhanced safety and system reliability give us confidence in our operations, allowing us to maintain high production levels. With the implementation of this state-of-the-art combustion system, Cartaseta aims to significantly enhance burner performance under all operating conditions. This will improve the energy efficiency of the entire tissue machine, reduce CO₂ emissions in compliance with regulations, and maximise the safety and reliability of the equipment. Additionally, the system upgrade, carried out by the experienced ANDRITZ team in collaboration with the customer’s mill operators, will help minimise machine downtime.
