Valmet to Deliver Winder Rebuild to VPK Paper Normandie

Valmet is to deliver a winder rebuild to VPK Paper Normandie in Alizay, France. The rebuild will increase the operational reliability and capacity and improve the safety of the winder.

The order was included in Valmet’s orders received of the second quarter 2024. The value of the order will not be disclosed. The delivery is scheduled for the fourth quarter 2024.

“The paper machine in Alizay was restarted in 2023 after a grade conversion delivered by Valmet. We are happy to continue the cooperation with VPK by delivering a winder rebuild that will make the winder easier and safer to operate,” said Kevin Liegeois, Mill Sales Manager, EMEA Area at Valmet.

Delivery’s technical information
The winder rebuild will include a mother reel and empty spool handling solution, a new slitting section with automatic trim positioning, edge trim cutting, and installation services.

VPK Paper Normandie in Alizay, France, produces about 450,000 tonnes of recycled paper for corrugated board each year. In addition to the paper mill, the site contains a water treatment plant and a wood pellet production unit.
